As hard as people try to get rid of stumps this way, it just takes too long. In order to get a stump burned out completely, it may take several days of burning, and there is no way to control which parts will and won’t burn. This is especially a challenge with a larger root ball. Why work for hours or even days on something that could be handled by an experienced professional in a few minutes?
